Kilchoman Distillery, founded in 2005 on Islay, Scotland, is renowned for its traditional farm-to-bottle approach. It grows much of its barley on-site, malts it by hand, and handles every step of production, from distillation to bottling, ensuring exceptional quality and authenticity.
Known for its heavily peated single malts, Kilchoman’s flagship Machir Bay balances bourbon and sherry cask influences with notes of vanilla, citrus, and peat smoke. Other notable releases include Sanaig, with a sherry-forward profile, and 100% Islay, crafted entirely from barley grown and malted on the estate.
Using traditional floor malting and small copper pot stills, Kilchoman creates rich, complex whiskies matured in premium casks. With flavors of lemon zest, dried fruits, and coastal peat, the whiskies reflect Islay’s character. Despite its youth, Kilchoman has earned global acclaim for its dedication to tradition and quality, making it a standout in the whisky world.
